This is the 3rd largest city in Denmark and the birthplace of famed Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. I didn’t know what to expect from this city, especially since I visited right after seeing Aarhus, which I loved. Odense is small and compact but a wonderful place to spend a weekend in. The town is charming and with an abundance of green spaces, you never feel like you’re in one of Denmark’s largest cities.
